Plant Table Contest

All active society members are encouraged to bring their blooming plants to share the beauty with the entire society. Members bringing plants for the contest must enter each plant in a respective alliance:

Cattleya, Vanda, Cymbidium/Dendrobium, Paphiopedilum, Phalaenopsis, Phragmipedium, Oncidium, Miniature ( under 6” in growth excluding inflorescence), Miscellaneous, First time exhibitor at OSM Plant Table, Plant of the Month, and Best Representation of the Theme.

Theme: 1. Optional

2. Limited to plant & pot due to space

3. Must complement the orchid

4. Selected by the judges, worth 5 points

Plant table Contest is open to all society members. It is held August, October, November, January, February, March, April, May, and June.

Honor Plant: One plant will be selected by the judging team for special recognition.

Meeting Awards. Ribbons will be awarded to one plant in each alliance, at the discretion of the judges.

Annual Contest: Five (5) points awarded to each member bringing a plant to the table. Five (5) points for each ribbon winner.

Five (5) points for each Honor Plant.

Those accumulating the highest number of points will be announced at the August meeting and receive:

1^st place: $75.00 Gift Certificate

2^nd place $50.00 Gift Certificate

3^rd place $25.00 Gift Certificate

4^th place $15.00 Gift Certificate

5^th place $10.00 Gift Certificate

Gift certificates may be used at the OSM plant sale or for purchasing books from the American Orchid Society (AOS). (To be refunded upon showing of receipt from AOS.)

 Judges will be appointed by the Education Committee.
